Are you feeling low, fearful, anxious or out of control?
Are you feeling stuck, wanting to make a change but not quite knowing how?
Are you looking for a space to explore your feelings and experiences safely and away from judgement?
Psychological therapy may be able to help.
I am an HCPC-registered Clinical Psychologist offering psychological therapy (also known as “talking therapy”) for a wide range of difficulties and issues. Therapy involves working with a therapist towards your personal goals through exploring your thoughts and feelings. This may include learning to better understand yourself and your reactions, developing new ways of dealing with stressful situations and exploring new ways of living your life in a way that is satisfying and meaningful.
Therapy has been found to be helpful for a wide range of concerns, and some common issues that bring people to therapy include:
- Depression and hopelessness
- Anxiety and fear
- Moving on from painful experiences and losses
- Lacking motivation
- Low self-esteem
- Relationship difficulties
- Adjusting to life changes
- Coping with stress
I have worked in physical and mental healthcare, both in the NHS and charity sector, for 10 years and specialise in working with individuals with long-term health conditions and disabilities. I am able to offer therapy to individuals with concerns that relate to living with or caring for someone with a range of conditions, including:
- Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and other forms of acquired brain injury
- Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
- Parkinson’s Disease
- Chronic Pain
- Non-epileptic Attacks/Dissociative Seizures
- Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME/CFS)
- Motor Neurone Disease
- Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)
- Tremor and movement disorders
- Functional neurological symptoms
I completed my doctoral training within the NHS and am trained in a range of evidence-based therapies, which I use in an integrative way, tailoring therapy and adapting to each individual’s needs. My approach is flexible and during assessment we can consider and discuss together what kind of therapy may be most helpful for you.
Particular psychological therapies I use include:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Psychodynamic Therapy
